  • I am inspired…

Welcome to my cyber diary. I am happy to be able to share with my readers my favorite passion and life's work.

People inspire me, and that was the main reason why I decided to become a photographer. Everyone is so different in what they do, how they act and react and the way the express themselves. I am lover of modern style portrait photography. While I have specialized in weddings, I really don't have many inhibitions. As I grow forever into this business this blog will be the place I get to showcase all of my blood, sweat and tears, in the form of imagery.

If you are a regular here, thanks again for coming back. There's probably lots to see since your last visit.

If you have come by for the first time, then allow me to be the first one to welcome you here! Please check out my most recent stuff by simply scrolling down and going from there. Depending on what brought you here (and how much time you have) check out the links at the top to see where they take you. I appreciate any and all feedback about what you see and like, so be vocal and shout it out if you want me to know who you are.

    Until next time...

Shantall, Adam and little Evan – Family Fun

Hey folks, I don’t do a tonne of family sessions like this so it is always fun to head out to a park or something on a warm summer evening and just hang out with people. Kids included! I love hanging around kids because I can learn a lot from them. There the world’s best teachers and they don’t even know it.

A few weeks back I got to do exactly this with Shantall, Adam and their little boy Evan. It’s a fun experience and never a dull moment when shooting kids. It’s great to always have your finger ready to press the shutter as you never know when they might do something very much worth capturing.

Thanks for a fun evening guys and can’t wait for the wedding!

Jennifer & Mike – Wedding Bliss

So a lot has gone on lately. Janel and I have up and moved out to Oakbank, which for those who aren’t familiar is still only about 10 minutes outside of the city. So it’s close enough to everything, but still far enough away that you still get the quiet country-type lifestyle.

It’s great to be in our brand new house. I am definitely going to look forward to “breaking it in” with our new family soon!

So now that I have the internet again, I am able to get up to date on my blog posts. So stay with me for the new few weeks friends, there will be lots to see.

I was really looking forward to Jen and Mike’s wedding ever since the day they booked me. We got along really well and they are two of the nicest people that I have met in a while. When I shot their engagement session earlier this year, I knew they would be so easy to work with, which is always a photographer’s dream.

I love how natural these two look in front of the lens. I can click away and not have to worry about akward smiles or unkept poses. These two work so well together! Congrats Jennifer and Mike and thanks for keeping away the rain!

Jocelyne & Paul – Wonderfully One

Happy Birthday Canada!  This day rocks for so many reasons:  1) It’s usually pretty lax around the household and gives me time to get caught up on things,  2)  It usually is around the start of the Canadian Football season, so it comes with the anitcipation from a 7 month off-season and 3)  Despite the inevitable mosquitoes, the fireworks to end the evening are a definite highlight.

Speaking of fireworks, check out Jocelyne and Paul.  There will be fireworks at their wedding.  Not just the metphoric ones, but actual boom-boom-clack ones.  Totally cool.    That’s album front cover stuff right there!

Pics below; comments welcome.

Enjoy the humidity!

Ashley & Jason – Good Times at the Zoo

We have had some wet weather around these parts for the last few weeks. My featured couple, Ashley and Jason had booked the engagement session weeks before, and I was praying for some decent weather. Luckily, a nice, albeit brief, streak of nice weather came in and we took it to our advantage to head out to the zoo.

Ashley and Jason are the most fun, and outgoing couple that I have had the privilege to be in company with in a long time. These lovebirds are a riot to hang out with, and they have the charisma to boot. They make a great team, because their personalities are so much a like and they compliment each other so well. I’m glad they booked me for their wedding this summer!

I am very much looking forward to the big day in August. I am sure it will have it’s share of fun, unexpected moments. That we will all laugh about and enjoy. Thanks guys for the good times and the chocolate banana milkshake! I’ll be sure chugging a few more of those babies back this summer!

Betsy & Burke – Country Lovin’

I was so thrilled when Betsy and Burke booked me for their wedding this October. After meeting them for the first time out in Domain, Manitoba (don’t ask me for directions) they were definitely a couple that I wanted to get to know!

Domain is literally a town, that when you’re driving down the highway, if you blink, you will miss it. I’m telling you this because this is exactly what happened to me. But once you get in, which is basically one road going each way off the highway, you’ll love the small town feel for sure. I certainly did. So much country.

So after our recent shoot, at least now I can say I have been here more than once. Now I think I know my way without getting lost!

Four more months guys! The coundown begins…
