  • I am inspired…

Welcome to my cyber diary. I am happy to be able to share with my readers my favorite passion and life's work.

People inspire me, and that was the main reason why I decided to become a photographer. Everyone is so different in what they do, how they act and react and the way the express themselves. I am lover of modern style portrait photography. While I have specialized in weddings, I really don't have many inhibitions. As I grow forever into this business this blog will be the place I get to showcase all of my blood, sweat and tears, in the form of imagery.

If you are a regular here, thanks again for coming back. There's probably lots to see since your last visit.

If you have come by for the first time, then allow me to be the first one to welcome you here! Please check out my most recent stuff by simply scrolling down and going from there. Depending on what brought you here (and how much time you have) check out the links at the top to see where they take you. I appreciate any and all feedback about what you see and like, so be vocal and shout it out if you want me to know who you are.

    Until next time...

Susan & Brian – Mountain Views and Wedding Vows {Part 1}

Susan and Brian were not only great clients, they are now good friends. I had the extraordinary opportunity of taking part in their quiet, secluded wedding ceremony in Kananaskis country out in the fine province of Alberta. I must confess that after living in Calgary for 3 years that I never checked out Kananaskis while I was there, even though it is not terribly far from Calgary. It’s kind of a shocker to me really.

It was such a unique way of sharing their vows. Only moms, dad, grandma and brothers and sister were there to share in the moments of this day, which made it such a special event for them. The views were incredible!

Afterwards, it was great to be able to wander the park for the awesomeness that was nature and grab some special shots. We went way overtime because there simply weren’t enough hours to capture all that surrounded us, but it was worth it.

This day however was not to be outdone by Part 2: the fun with family and friends out back in their home province of Manitoba. Stay tuned for that event, which included ferris wheels, bumper cars, beaches, sun and sand and whole lot in between. You’ll want to book mark this one.

Shantall & Adam ~ Married

Shantall and Adam tied the knot amongst a nice quaint gathering of their firends and family. It was such a privilege to get to know these two, not only because they are such great people, but because I got to hang out with their wonderful little boy Evan. As I have said before it is amazing what you can learn from kids, even if they can’t talk. The expressions they have, and there general attitude is just something we can all learn from, especially when life gets too serious!

Here are some pics from their great day:

Alison & Rob: Winnipeg Wedding

Check out Alison and Rob! They had a perfect small wedding that was a blast to shoot. They had their ceremony at the Assiniboine Park Conservatory and their reception was in their very own backyard, with a lot of the decore done by the bride and groom themselves. Very cool!
We all toughed it out in the rain too, and the pictures were a lot of fun.

Liz & Bryan: Winnipeg Wedding

I am reviving the blog once and for all!

I know there have been a couple false claims to do this, but now this is the real message this time! Much more to come and lot less waiting time.

I will offer up Liz and Bryan first. What a great couple they were and by far the largest wedding party that I have had the privilege of working with. So big in fact, they actually even had their own touring bus!

Congratulations again guys, it was great working with you!

And We’re Back! First up…Julia and Daniel!

Hey blog fans. So a long time coming, this post is. I am making it a priority over the next couple of months to make sure I blog the rest of the fabulous weddings, and other sessions I have done up until now. If you start checking back regularly, chances are you will see something new each time you come back.

We’ll start this off with the debut of Julia and Daniel. I say debut because this was one of the few weddings I have done where we didn’t have a pre-shoot of any kind. Daniel and Julia had been out of the province for a part of their engagement while Julia went to school. Daniel was also stationed in the armed forces during this time.
So Daniel and Julia were newbies in front of my lens, but it certainly didn’t show. They aren’t shy at all when it comes to posing in front of the camera and neither was the wedding party, which consisted of all the boys in the family (Julia has 4 brothers, Daniel has 2, see pic below.) It was great that everyone was so open to the ideas of what we did and where we went for wedding shots, as it did rain, and was more than a little windy out.
These two make a wonderful couple as they have a lot of the same interests and very similar personalities. They will do some great things in life.

Check out a select few shots from their day:
